Services
Whether you are an individual home owner, business owner or builder, American Brickface & Stucco Exteriors will provide the services you need.
Brickface System
Our brickface system is designed to look like real brick, but without the cost. We start by securing galvanized wire lath to the structure with galvanized nails. Galvanized materials do not rust and are an important factor in any exterior facade. We then apply a cement scratch coat. The second coat of cement is applied and considered the “mortar” color. A final textured coat of cement is applied and is the “brick” color. Once the final coat has set sufficiently, straight lines are scored deep enough to the allow the mortar color to show through. All three coats are hand-troweled onto the structure and the lines are scribed by hand. The result is a beautiful maintenance-free exterior in the color of your choice!
Traditional Cement Stucco System
Our traditional cement stucco system consists of three coats of traditional cement. We start by securing galvanized wire lath to the structure with galvanized nails. Galvanized materials do not rust and are an important factor in any exterior facade. We then apply a cement scratch coat followed by a cement brown coat. The final coat can be a textured or smooth cement finish. All three coats are hand-troweled onto the structure. The result is a beautiful maintenance-free exterior in the color of your choice!
Hardcoat Acrylic Stucco System
Our hardcoat acrylic stucco system is designed to look like the EIFS foam board system, but without the foam. We start by securing galvanized wire lath to the structure with galvanized nails. Galvanized materials do not rust and are an important factor in any exterior facade. We then apply a cement scratch coat followed by a cement brown coat. The final coat is a smooth acrylic stucco which is water-resistant. All three coats are hand-troweled onto the structure. The result is a beautiful maintenance-free exterior in the color of your choice!
Our tudor board system is similar to traditional stucco system, but with build outs. We start by securing galvanized wire lath to the structure with galvanized nails. Galvanized materials do not rust and are an important factor in any exterior facade. We then apply a cement scratch coat followed by a brown coat. Forms are used to create “tudor boards” made out of cement on the walls. When the forms are removed, a final coat of cement is applied and the “boards” are finished in a contrasting color of cement. All three coats are hand-troweled onto the structure. The result is a beautiful maintenance-free exterior in the color and texture of your choice!
EIFS – Exterior Insulation Finishing System
Stucco is an exterior siding system that has been around for centuries. Synthetic stucco, or EIFS, looks like a hardcoat stucco but it is a completely different system. As the name implies, EIFS incorporates a layer of insulation. Such a system is called a VNT system, vertical notched trowel, or water-managed wall system. We are certified to install EIFS by AWCI, Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industry. AWCI sets the standards for EIFS and you can find us on their website. Please be sure the EIFS contractor you hire is AWCI certified and carries EIFS liability insurance. A general liability policy usually excludes EIFS coverage.
Here is a description of the layers:
* Rigid foam insulation is attached to the sheathing or block substrate with fasteners or adhesive.
* A base coat is spread onto the insulation.
* Fiberglass mesh is then embedded into the base coat.
* A color finish coat in a texture of choice is applied over the base coat and mesh.
Ask an Expert
If you have EIFS on your home, it is a good idea to get an expert to inspect it. An expert can tell you if your exterior is made of EIFS, if it is a water-managed system or face seal system, and what you should do to improve the reliability of the system.
EIFS Tips for Homeowners
Protect EIFS from mechanical damage. For example, do not lean a ladder directly against an EIFS wall unless you have provided something with which to spread out the weight, such as a piece of wood or foam padding. When cleaning an EIFS exterior, use the lowest power wash setting to avoid penetrating the system and causing damage.
Stone Veneer
The combination of stone and stucco is an old world classic. Viewed as an high end option, a stone look is much more affordable these days with manufactured stone products cutting the high end cost. The addition of stone will bring an touch of sophistication to any home or building whether its combined with stucco or another exterior of your choice. There are many types of stone to choose from and the combinations are endless!
Thin brick is kiln-fired, authentic clay brick, but cut to 1/2″ or 1″ thickness. It is lightweight and can be applied to a wall without required extra support or footers underneath. Brick veneer comes in various colors and textures and can be set in mortar or installed in a metal panel system. Thin brick is a cost effective alternative to upgrading the value of your home or building.
Going Green!
You can feel good about using stucco, stone veneer or thin brick veneer on your home or building because all are natural green products. Cement is a porous material comprised of sand, gravel and calcium – all products of Mother Nature.
